Sealants

Research has shown that everyone has a 80% lifetime chance of experiencing caries. A sealant is a protective material placed on the chewing surface of healthy teeth to prevent cavities.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a material painted upon all the teeth to help increase tooth strength and cavity prevention. New research shows that patients who consistently have a professionally applied fluoride treatment, can see up to 75% fewer new cavities. This is a huge win for patients who are always struggling with decay!

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. -Benjamin Franklin

Fillings

A filling is a treatment to repair a tooth damaged by decay. A filling can restore the tooth back to its normal function and shape, while preventing further decay.

Tooth Extractions

In many cases, you can repair teeth that are broken or damaged by decay with a filling, crown or other dental treatment. Sometimes, the damage is so severe that a tooth extraction is necessary.

There are two types of extractions you may need:

Simple Extraction:

The removal of a tooth that is visible in your mouth.

Surgical Extraction:

A more complex procedure used for a tooth that may have broken off at the gum line or has not come into the mouth yet.

Crowns

A crown also known as a “cap” can help strengthen a tooth. Crowns can protect a weak tooth from breaking, a broken tooth, or a large filling with decay under the filling. It is also an excellent means to cover a dental implant, teeth that are discolored or badly shaped teeth.

Dental Cleaning

A dental cleaning is a maintenance procedure completed every 6 months to keep your teeth and gums healthy by removing plaque attached to your teeth. If you have not had a cleaning in several years, you may need a Deep Cleaning. A deep cleaning removes heavier plaque and calculus below the gum line and is used to treat gum disease.

Pediatric Dentistry

In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday. Neglected cavities lead to problems that will affect permanent teeth. Primary teeth are important for: (1) proper eating. (2) providing space for the permanent teeth and guiding them into the correct position. (3) permitting normal development of the jaw bones and muscles.

Dental Implants

A permanent option to replace a missing tooth. Dental implants are comprised of three components:

the Implant, the Abutment and the Crown.

The Implant is made of titanium that replaces the root of the tooth. The Abutment connects the Implant to the Crown. Implants have several advantages:

-Have a success rate of 95%-98%.
-Can last the lifetime of the patient with care.
-Improves chewing function of the patient.
-Leads to a lower risk of cavities in nearby teeth.
-Results in decreased sensitivity in nearby teeth.

Dentures

Removable replacements for missing teeth made of either a metal or a plastic framework.

There are two types:

Full Denture

Replacement option when all teeth are missing.

Partial Denture

Replacement option when some teeth are still present in the mouth.

Both options are able to restore the function and esthetics of your smile!
